The Sankofa Society is comprised of uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the NYS Unified Court System. This organization was formed with you in mind! The philosophy of the is Society was born from the spirit of SANKOFA, which urges us to “retrieve the best aspects of our past” in an effort to prepare a better future. Collectively, we aim to support, build and thrive as a community within the Unified Court System, while working towards a more fair and inclusive workplace for ourselves and future employees.

Fostering the spirit of "Sankofa", our mission is to educate, uplift, and support our membership.We strive to accomplish this goal while serving our communities, promoting positive law enforcement/community relations, and ensuring fairness, equality, and inclusion within the NYS Unified Court System.
